This book, consisting 156 pages of acid-free paper, aims to popularize the nuclear medicine specialty among the public and educating about the potential of nuclear medicine potentials health care professionals. The Cover Page designed by Springer is very lucid and attractive. This book can be used by the nuclear medicine nursing staff for quick revision of the procedural guidelines and instructions given to the patients before, during and after the completion of the procedures. Handmade sketching of a few images, Positron Emission Tomography -Computed Tomography (PET-CT) images and photographs of common nuclear medicine equipment have been depicted at appropriate places. Procedures and instructions mentioned in the book have been taken from the reference guidelines of the Society of Nuclear Medicine, Molecular Imaging Guidelines, European Association of NM Procedure guideline, IAEA guideline for Radiation safety and AERB safety Code. Abbreviations used are enlisted and arranged alphabetically for the convenience of the reader. The book content consists five major chapters with subchapters, along with references for further reading purposes.

Chapter 1 titled "Introduction to Nuclear Medicine" describes nuclear medicine at a glance with a manual sketch of the thyroid gland and few organ images with proper labeling and annotations. Pictures of nuclear medicine equipment like thyroid uptake probe, single head Gamma camera, PET scanner and dose calibrator have been shown in the figures to give an idea to the readers about the major equipment used in nuclear medicine.

Chapter 2 is titled "Meet the Nuclear Medicine Team," in which the author has mentioned about the Nuclear Medicine Physicians, Nuclear Medicine Physicists, Radiation Safety Officers and the referral Physicians and their responsibilities to run the complete show of nuclear medicine with integrative team approach. The author referred the AERB Safety Code, Govt. of India (AERB/RF-Med/SC-2 [Rev 2]), which is applicable in India.

Chapter 3 titled "Common Apprehensions about Nuclear Medicine" consists of about eight frequently asked questions by the patients and sometimes answers have to be given by non-clinical or allied health staff to the patients are also well explained, including the more frequent questions asked about the conceiving by younger females and the effect to their progeny after undergoing radionuclide therapy, etc.

Chapter 4 titled "Nuclear Medicine Procedures" has been divided in 13 sub chapters comprising about 50 commonly used diagnostic, palliative and therapeutic procedures including Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT) and Positron Emission Tomography (PET) imaging. Most of the procedures are arranged in sequence mentioning about the procedure, common indications, instructions to the patients, patient preparation and the dose to be administered with the procedural steps in the form of a protocol that needs to be followed. Procedures are supported with radio isotopic images (Black and white/Color) acquired in the system in a very practicable approach with the references as and when required.

Chapter 5 titled "Definition of Common terminologies use in Nuclear Medicine" is divided into nine sub headings consisting of terminology related to Radiation Physics and Radioactivity measurement and terminologies related to organ system wise in clinical nuclear medicine techniques.

This book can also be used as a ready reckoner for the Allied Health Sciences professionals to deliver quick and prompt service. The book can be used as a quick reference book for educating and increasing the awareness and removing the apprehensions about nuclear medicine among common people. Simple language and good illustrations make the book attractive to all kind of readers, with a need to popularize the science of nuclear medicine.

After reviewing the complete book, it is clear that the author is successful in his endeavor for educating and popularizing nuclear medicine among patients, the public, physicians and health care professionals at their desired level.
