Transaxial images of pre-therapy and post therapy scans respectively (c and d) show residual mass of size of 4.4 cm × 2.2 cm in the retro-peritoneum. However no increased FDG uptake is noted in the mass (equal to background) and according to International Harmonization Project criteria persistent mass of any size with negative FDG uptake should be categorized as complete response. Accordingly this patient was classified as complete responder and was disease free on follow-up of 2 years
